THE FEATURES I WISH MY SMART PHONE HAD

When ALEXANDRE GRAHAM BELL invented the first telephone in 1876, little did he know that it would end up becoming an integral part of our lives.

Like us humans, who evolved from apes into the smart intelligent beings we are now(are we?!? but chuck it, we'll leave that argument for another day), the mobile phone has also evolved from bulky communication devices into fashion accessories that come equipped with everythin other than a water purifier(i guess that's a cost cutting measure considering there is very little water around)

Which got me thinking, if they could do it, i can do it too. Why cant i come up with features of my own. Here goes nothing.

When the first TOUCH phone was introduced, it revolutionised the mobile telecom industry. it became a benchmark of sorts, every mobile company started introducing "touch-operated" models. The "touch phone" craze seems to be fading now. i guess its time for a change. the change i offer is a 'hands-free operated mobile phone, hands free in the sense, all operations, be it texting/typing, and th entire operation itself is controlled by the mind.' all it needs is a chip in the phone and a similar detachable one that can be plugged into your ear. the reason i thought of this was, me be a msgng freak, i've been struck 'n' number of times in situations wherein i need to text someone something important but alas, am stuck behind the steering wheel. but with this technology, we can text, play songs and do much much more, all without a touch. ;)

Another feature i thought i should add was a mobile-charging feature., a solar powered one at that. these charging units can be hemispherical pods that can be placed(and/or stuck on walls using powerful suction clips) under the sun. the mobile phone can be connected to it using regular charging cables and voila- charging on the move!!! dont you think this is a better option to charge while travelling by trains or buses. and of course the charging unit is a separate entity in itself. the mobile can also be charged in the conventionl way. ;)

With the passage of time mobile phones have evolved into mini computers, with features available on any standard personal computer. but one thing i found lacking was a usb port, of course, i guess it'll be out soon but i thought i would add this in my smart phone too. couple this with a 3-d video projecter and half the problems we face during presentations are solved. good bye laptops, my smart phone is all i need.

One more thing i thought of was a holographic 3d interface that projects items on the screen in the form of a hologram that rises from the screen itself. revolutionary, sophisticated and fun.

4 things i thought would revolutionise the already advanced versions of mobiles- the smart phone.

SIGHTS AND SOUNDS OF SOWCARPET #3

My 3rd post in this series. have fun.

Having lived the majority of my "vevaram therinja vayasu" life in the bylanes of sowcarpet, i thought it is time i share its secrets with the rest of the world.

here it goes: SOWCARPET-REVEALED!

5 THINGS YOU WOULD FIND IN SOWCARPET:

1. low hip jeans clad guys and kurti-leggings clad girls munching on pani puris, sandwiches and other authentic sowcarpet street food.

2. pot bellied men sitting at pawn broker shops(in chennai tamil terms, ada namba saetu(seth) kada paa ;D ) feasting on jilebis dripping with sugar syrup and/or kachoris soaked in spicy mint chutney.

3. Garment shops selling duplicate products of reputed brands along with pretty cheap shirts in colours so bright, they could render you partially blind. :P

4. T-R-A-F-F-I-C!!!!!! - like God, traffic is omnipresent in sowcarpet. ;P
of course the concept of the existence of God is quite complicated. so here's something simpler, the probability of finding a sparsely crowded street(asking for an empty street would be over ambitious) in sowcarpet is as high as finding a polar bear in antarctica!!! :P
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Do_you_find_Polar_Bears_in_Antarctica

5. tons and tons of milk sweets in shops. and an equal amount of garbage and trash on the streets adjoining them.

5 THINGS YOU WOULDN'T FIND IN SOWCARPET:

1. basic civic sense- if u live in socarpet, u can spit pan and throw garbage anywhere you want, the "anywhere" could also include the roof and terraces of the adjoining houses.

2. basic road sense- if u live in sowcarepet, u can park your bike anywhere you want, even if its the middle of the road or the entrance to your neighbour's house!!!

3.parking space!!! this place is so damn crowded that people opt to go for an extra living portion they could rent for rather than prrovide the tenants with proper parking space. the result is that the vehicles to be parked inside spill out onto the roads and crowd the already small streets making them inaccessible even by foot. :S

4. trees, greenery- what the heck, its difficult even to find a proper open space here!!!!

5. P-E-A-C-E O-F M-I-N-D!!!!!

that's it. the secrets are out. if u still think sowcarpet is fit for inhabitation, you can always contact me. i'll get you the chief doctor of kilpauk government hospital's number. he could guarantee you a bed and living space there cos that's where you are gonna head to if u reside here for 10 yrs.

surely, this place is not for the faint hearted.

your future is in your hands, pls dont risk it by moving into sowcarpet.

stay safe, pls dont try this.

until next time,

ADIOS!!!!!!

SHOWERS, STREET FOOD AND SHOPPING FOR A SPECIAL OCCASION

My 2nd post with an alliterated title- SHOWERS, STREET FOOD AND SHOPPING FOR A SPECIAL OCCASION describes my adventures a day before my dad's bday.

Setting out on my bike which had gotten itself washed after a really really long time(considering i take very little care of my bike), me and my bro set out towards ANNA NAGAR, the haven for "budget shoppers" like me..

For once, we got through to anna nagar without much traffic to worry about, which was quite a surprise. Halfway through our shopping, we realised that it was pouring outside, literally pouring, my bike getting washed for the second time that day. ;D Done with our shopping, we realised that we had nowhere to go. but behold fortune favours the intelligent, for a few blocks away was one place where we could both satiate our gastronomic buds as well as stay away from the rain that was lashing out , behold, GANGOTREE, ur one stop shop for anything available on the streets of north india.

With our stomachs full, we set out for a second round of shopping, this time, to pick up a shirt for my dad's bday tomo. Riding into the chilly night wind, i experienced absolute bliss, the wind caressing me through the thin fabric of my tee.

After picking up the gift, we set off northwards for another chilly ride back home. lost in the beauty of a ROYAL ENFIELD MACHISMO, we almost crashed into a brand new XYLO that had stopped at a signal. but fortunately, my bike's brakes didnt fail me this time. with a sharper eye on the road, we managed to reach home safely but not before catching a few delightful sights on the way.

The gift looks good as it lies there hidden beneath my shirts, waiting for its grand opening the morrow. hope dad likes it.

wishing dad a very happy bday.

thanks for being there for me, thanks for making me who i am.

love you dad.

until next time,

ADIOS!!!!

MEMORIES, MICHIEF AND MOOD SWINGS

October has been hectic. exams, record works, bday treats et al. so much work and so little time, well let's just say october has given me all- joy, sorrow, dejection, disgust, anguish, fun, pride. u name it, i've seen it all!!

first came joy. a friend's bday treat had us all munching away to some yummy north indian street food with generous helpings of cheese, spices and happiness. that day was fun, that day was awesome. that day was one i would never forget.

then came dejection and sorrow. dejection at not being recognised by people u knew. sorrow, for knowing that i could have done better.

next came pride. pride at having myself photographed doing what i do best. and disgust, knowing that i am capable of not jus posing for lame FACEBOOK profile pics but so much more.

fun, i definitely had in the bus. so much fun. but when u are on a high, things can come crashing down. conflicts, difference of opinions, sacrifices, compromises, patch ups. things that can mean so much to the people involved but to the outside world, it seems funny. - DISGUST

joy, sorrow, dejection, disgust, anguish, fun, pride. well, October has given me all.

MEMORIES, MISCHIEF AND MOOD SWINGS. 3 simple words to explain my 3 weeks this month.

until next time, adios.
